How do employee verification codes work?

To add an additional layer of verification and combat social engineering techniques that typically target help desks, you can use Push to generate a 6-digit code that you can use to verify that you’re speaking to an employee at your company.

When you enable Employee verification codes, Push will generate a unique 6-digit number that is visible when you click on the Push extension icon in your browser. Note that enabling the feature does not notify employees; it merely makes the 6-digit code visible from the extension details tray.

The number refreshes every 24 hours and is the same for all employees in your organization.

When an employee contacts your help desk for assistance, you can ask them to click on the Push extension icon in their browser and repeat the number, which should match the same number your help desk staff is seeing.

The employee verification codes feature is currently available in early access. You can enable it by visiting the Labs tab of the Settings page in the Push admin console.
