This guide covers how to deploy the Push Security browser extension in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave on MacOS using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution.
Push provides a standard config that can be imported and deployed via any MDM solution that supports provisioning custom configuration profiles to MacOS endpoints. As such, the directions below are not specific to a particular MDM. You should consult the documentation of your MDM solution to determine the best way to deploy the profile.
Links are provided below for some popular MDM solutions that cover deploying custom configuration profiles for MacOS:
Generating the configuration profile
To generate the configuration profile, head to thesection in the Push app, and click on Enrollment options.
On the popup frame, click on the Managed button.
Next, click on the Device Management Software button, choose Chrome, Edge, or Brave as the browser, select MacOS as the OS, and click Generate config. This will provide a button to download the config specific to your team.
Once you’ve downloaded and extracted the zip file, proceed to the next step.
Configure your MDM
In your MDM, create a custom configuration profile and provide a descriptive name and description. Provide the file included in the zip file from the previous step (chrome_push_security.mobileconfig, edge_push_security.mobileconfig, or brave_push_security.mobileconfig).
Once the profile has been created, assign it to a device or group of devices. When the settings propagate, the Push extension will be installed on devices in your organization, and automatically be enrolled into your Push team.
